Part 8 planning permission has been approved for Ireland's only National Storytelling Centre in Ballyjamesduff.
The Cavan County Museum announced plans for the facility which would be unique to the area, in July, with hopes it will attract more oversea tourists.
Plans include building a new sheltered walkway link, a new carpark, in addition to the single story stand alone centre, indoor and outdoor
performance and workshop spaces, an archive room, and recording studio.
Sabina Donohue, curator of the Cavan County Museum, told members of the Ballyjamesduff MD this would also attract schools across the country, with
opportunities for performers also.
The application will be put forward for funding through the Rural Regeneration Scheme.
