Planning permission has been approved for major improvement works to St. Aidan's Comprehensive School in Cootehill.
The development will consist of a single storey extension to the southeast of the existing school building which will include two engineering rooms, one engineering prep room, student lockers, and toilet facilities.
Also in the approved application will see the demolish of the existing woodwork room and provide a single storey extension to the southwest of the existing building to include new woodwork rooms.
The upgrade works include site alterations for a new pedestrian path, alterations to the existing carpark, a new pedestrian entrance, a new carpark and a dedicated bus parking area.
Board of management at the Cootehill secondary school was given the green light by Cavan County Council with 12 conditions attached.
