Commissioner Mairead McGuinness and Minister for Local Government and Planning Peter Burke are visiting Cavan today.
The Commissioner will attend the farm of Alan Clarke in Virginia where she will launch the Teagasc Signpost programme.
Minister Burke, meanwhile, will visit a number of sites throughout Cavan including that of the new fire station in Ballyjamesduff.
Speaking to Shannonside Northern Sound he said there was a lot of work to be done today and he was looking forward to getting on with it.
"We have a number of housing projects to visit - a number of vacant houses that have been brought back into use," Minister Burke continued.
"We are also looking at the contract signing for 13 new houses at Elm Park in Cavan town and six new houses at Main Street in Butlers Bridge.
"I'm also going to the site of the new fire station in Ballyjamesduff."
