Planning permission has been lodged to construct a brand new filling station in Cavan.
The proposed development would be located in Moynehall. Plans submitted to Cavan County Council by Cavan Motors Limited call for the demolition of the existing 1,430 square metre buildings on site and
closure of the existing entrance off the N55. In its place would be a new single storey service station building with a max height of 8.4m. Included in the building would be a 100 square metre retail area with
off-license, two communal seating areas and four new food and drink retailers. A drive-thru with hatch and lane and three waiting spaces, 51 car parking spaces, four pump islands with space for eight cars, and 10 HGV parking spaces are also part of the application. Two car wash bays, a HGV fueling area, five EV charging points, and 10 bike parking spaces make up the final part of the submission.
A decision on this large scale development is due just before Christmas.
