Planning 'delayed' for new housing in Ballyhaise

A decision on the appeal is due at the end of May.

Plans for a new housing development in Cavan have been delayed due to an appeal. Galetech Sustainable Living have applied to Cavan County Council for 29 new houses in Ballyhaise. The 29 homes would comprise of 18 own door units contained in three two-storey blocks.

The remainder is made up of two detached single storey two-bed houses, six semi-detached three beds, three three bed terraced houses. Also part of the application is a new service road and new entrances to access the development.

The rationale for the development, according to documents in the submission, is the affordability of housing in Cavan and the demand associated with anticipated population growth. Plans for the development were granted with 25 conditions attached however a third party appeal against it has been submitted. A decision on the appeal is due at the end of May.
