The Society of St. Vincent de Paul in Cavan have been given planning permission for the conversion of an apartment block in the town.
The approved planning application for the redevelopment works will consist of the conversion and refurbishment of the existing two-storey Waterside apartment building located on Bridge Street in Cavan Town.
The Townspark building will be now be converted from 10 x 1 bedroom night shelter apartments to 2 x 2 bed apartments and 4 x 1 bedroom sheltered apartments along with all associated site works.
In the application submitted to Cavan County Council, The St. Vincent de Paul said that this is an existing apartment building that is providing 6 x proposed sheltered apartment units for persons over the age of 55.
County planners gave the planning permission for the accommodation with four conditions attached.
