Planning permission has been approved for the replacement of an existing mast near Castleblayney.
On Tower Ireland Limited have been give the green light by county planners for the removal of an existing 24 metres lattice telecommunications antenna support structure and replacement with a new 36 metres one.
Also included in the now approved application are all associated site development works along with all antennas and dishes to provide for high-speed wireless data and broadband services in the area.
The mast is located on Mullyash Mountain in Castleblayney. Monaghan County Council gave the go-ahead this week with 7 conditions attached.
One of them conditions is that When the development is no longer required, it shall be demolished, removed and the site shall be reinstated at the developer's expense.
