Pest controllers were called to treat a cockroach infestation at a Monaghan Direct Provision Centre last month.
This is the second confirmed outbreak of the insects at the St Patrick's site in the last nine months.
This latest outbreak was revealed in a social media post on the "Say No to Direct Provision Ireland" Facebook page.
It said the number of cockroaches in a resident's room was increasing daily because of external works and the felling of trees.
A Department of Equality Spokesperson confirmed to Northern Sound News that EcoLab Pest Elimination visited St Patrick's on June 18th and found evidence of cockroaches in two bedrooms.
Those two rooms, and another room, were fogged on the day of inspection to treat the issue, with a report saying the cockroach issues has now been resolved.
The spokesperson added that pest controllers are called as often as is required, and it may take more than one intervention to fully eradicate cockroaches, "as eggs may be in items in wardrobes".
An outbreak in September last year gained national attention when a resident said cockroaches had caused a skin rash.
The Department said that outbreak was considered treated in October.
A further report of cockroaches was made to centre management at the end of March this year, with it said Ecolab bait points showed "no presence of cockroaches in the room".
