Killinkere GAA Club has applied to Cavan County Council seeking permission for an all-weather pitch. Plans include an adjoining training area complete with high ball netting, new pitch fencing along with a viewing stand.
The Club has also sought permission for the provision of high ball netting to the existing grass training pitch and all associated ancillary site works. County planners will decide on this application at the end of May.
Meanwhile, the leisure centre is the best known landmark in the area and is the centre of all club activities.
