Planning permission has been granted for the construction of 18, two-storey dwellings in Co Cavan.
The semi-detached properties will be constructed at "Drumgola Wood", in Drumlark and Latt, Cavan.
The estate is already home to 180 dwellings, and submissions received in relation to the development claimed that there are "ongoing problems" with overflowing drains and that these works will "add to this existing problem".
However, Irish Water and Cavan County Council say they will liaise to ensure that all requirements are met.
The submissions also expressed concern about "high volumes of traffic", but a traffic impact assessment concluded that the development will have not have a "material impact".
The dwellings will consist of six, three-bed, and 12, two-bed properties.
