People's pockets are going to be hit as the latest carbon tax increases came into effect yesterday.
Oil, gas, coal, briquettes and electricity are all increasing in price.
The average gas and home heating oil bill is now going up substantially for hard pressed families.

The price comparison website bonkers.ie is encouraging consumers to shop around for the best deals.
Darragh Cassidy is the head of communications at bonkers and he says it's going to add around another €17 a year to the average annual gas bill and around €80 or €90 a year to fill up a 900L tank of home heating oil.
He says while it may not sound like a lot, it will add up!
