People in the region are being asked to 'Run For Arif' this morning.
This is a virtual event which has been organised by the Sanctuary Runners, a group that facilitates people in Direct Provision and people in areas that have a centre to come together and run.
This morning's run is in memory of Muhammad Arif Ahrar from Afghanistan , who died in a direct provision centre in Monaghan earlier this month.
People are asked to run, walk, or jog any distance at 11am, and then post a picture with their hand on their heart to social media using the hashtag #RunforArif.
Graham Clifford, who set up sanctuary runners, told Shannonside Northern Sound that they now have over 2000 members and it will be introduced in Monaghan soon:
