Locals in Scotshouse has received confirmation from Eir that the erecting of a mast in the village has been stalled.
According to local resident John Connolly, this is allow talks to take place between Eir and concerned residents in the village.
Locals came together earlier this week to deliver a clear message to Eir in relation to the erecting of a mast in the village centre. On Tuesday Eir workers tried to erect a 40ft high telephone mast in the local village, 12ft away from a child's bedroom. Locals protested and managed to prevent the mast going ahead and up on 40 locals arrived at the location again on Wednesday morning from as early as 6am to prevent the works being carried out.
Speaking to Northern Sound, the locals gathered said they are going to continue the protest and are determined that this mast will not be erected so near their homes.
