People in Cavan, Monaghan and Longford have shown much less interest in travelling outside of their 5km area than residents in other counties.
New data from a software developer has revealed that a surge in people searching various distances and locations from their homes in anticipation of an easing of Covid restrictions.
Dave Bolger, who runs 2kmfromhome.com, reported a 25% increase nationally in the last two weeks of people searching for locations outside of their 5km limit, with a 25% rise in Monaghan, 26% rise recorded in Cavan, and 28% in Longford.
The biggest increase of 38% was seen in the counties of Wexford, Offaly, Clare and Kerry with a 34% increase reported in Roscommon and 31% in Leitrim.
