A pensioner was arrested for masturbating in Virginia Forest on Tuesday.
Fergus Muldoon of 6 Kenlis Place, Kells was arrested by Gardaí on Tuesday afternoon and taken to Bailieboro Garda Station where he was charged with engaging in an act of masturbation under section 45 of the Criminal Law Sexual Offences Act. The 75-year-old Meath man appeared at Cavan District Court yesterday when an arresting garda said that when charged Muldoon answered "I was just loitering in the forest".
The elderly defendant was released on bail with conditions until he is returned to court. Until then, the Meath pensioner is to stay out of Virginia as well as out of parks, schools and playgrounds. He was also ordered to refrain from taking any alcohol or illegal drugs, to carry a mobile phone with him and ensure it is charged and switched on at all times and to reside at his home address. Fergus Muldoon was remanded on bail to appear at Cavan District Court on July 18th.
