The father and grandfather in his 40s, died when he was struck by a car on Saturday night last.

The pedestrian who was killed in a collision in Cloverhill at the weekend has been named as Dmytro Yefimenko. The father and grandfather in his 40s, died when he was struck by a car on Saturday night last.

The Ballinagh man is survived by his daughter and granddaughter, parents, brother and extended family. He was a pedestrian on the N54 at Plush, Cloverhill when tragedy struck at 10:45pm.

The driver of the car was uninjured in the incident and gardaí are appealing for witnesses or footage of the area from around the time of the collision. Mr Yefimenko is reposing at Lakelands Funeral Home, Dublin Road, Cavan tomorrow from 5pm until 6:30pm followed by cremation.
