Pay parking in Monaghan Town will resume tomorrow.
It had been suspended as a result of the covid-19 pandemic.
The Chair of the local Municipal District, Seamus Treanor, recently told
Shannonside Northern Sound that pay parking had to be restored due to an
increase in the number of people illegally parking, such as blocking
disabled bays and footpaths.
Monaghan County Council has also warned that funding for local community
groups is at risk because no revenue has been generated over the period of
suspension.
The Council has said charges will come back into place from tomorrow
morning, with signs and notices across the town reminding people in recent
weeks.
