Monaghan County Council has been forced to store a defibrillator at the Patrick Kavanagh Centre inside the building.
The life-saving equipment was installed outside the Patrick Kavanagh Centre in Inniskeen last month.
However, the decision has been taken to place it indoors following recent tampering and it will only be available during opening hours.
The county council says it will be reinstated outside at a later date.
Meanwhile, a new defibrillator has been installed at the main entrance to Rossmore Park.
The Council says it was "very kindly donated by a member of the public" and adds that it will be monitored both electronically and by CCTV.
