Part 8 planning has been approved for a scheme at Kinnypottle in Cavan Town,
which will see the construction of 13 houses.
12 of these dwellings will be two-bed semi-detached bungalows, and one will
be a detached bungalow.
The part 8 planning was proposed by Councillor John Paul Feeley, and
seconded by Patricia Walsh.
Councillor Feeley praised the "comprehensive report" that has been complied
by Cavan County Council Senior Engineer, John Wilson.
Councillor Feeley added that the development looked "excellent" and has
taken the concerns of local residents into account.
Mr. Wilson said measures have been taken to ensure equality of access and all
of the bungalows are wheelchair accessible.
He added that the development will be of a scale that complements existing
dwellings, and is not of a scale that a new street or concourse is needed.
Mr. Wilson said the "next step will be to go to tender", and it's hoped that
construction will begin towards the end of September and the dwellings will
be completed towards the last quarter of 2022.
