As it's the beginning of anew school term which invariably means another row over school bus transport.
This time, it;'s the turn of families using the A20 bus route which services Kilnaleck, Killydoon, Ballyheelan via Ballinagh to Cavan Town.
Some 20 secondary school students have found themselves without a seat on the bus, impacting 20 local families. The families staged a protest this week and are prepared to ramp up their campaign until the Department of Education fix the problems on their route.
The affected students are on what is called concessionary transport tickets because their families have chosen not to send them to the nearest school in their catchment are because it is in Granard, County Longford. The problem is compounded by the fact that other families who do not necessarily need a bus ticket have bought one at the capped rate of €125 per household - but may not have taken up their seat.
Add on top of that, the fact many new families have moved into the Ballinagh area who were given tickets, and the result is a service not fit for purpose. Linda O'Reilly has two sons in fourth and second year who had seats on the A20 bus until this new term. She told Northern Sound her and other parents are at their wits' end.
