Monaghan County Council is inviting the owners and custodians of historic and protected structures to apply for grant funding.
The funding streams are under the Historic Structure Fund (HSF) 2025, and the Historic Thatch Building Stream of the Built Heritage Investment Scheme (BHIS) 2025. HSF assists the conservation and enhancement of historic structures and buildings and awards a small number of grants ranging from €50,000 up to €200,000.
Local Fine Gael Cllr Pauric Clerkin emphasised the importance of protecting our historic buildings saying "Our historic structures are more than bricks and mortar; they tell stories of our history and bygone generations. Protecting them is not just about preservation, it's about honouring our past while looking to the future":
