Over €600,000 has been announced for walking routes, trails and greenways across Cavan and Monaghan.
The funding is being provided under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Fund, with more than €6.5 million going to 38 projects nationwide.
€339,000 is going to Cavan, to be shared between the Dromore Greenway and the Cavan Way.
In Monaghan, the Ballybay Trail and Lough na Glack will see improvements with a €263,000 pot between them.
Minister Heather Humphreys says the funding from her Department will help develop the amenities that have seen increased visitor numbers in the past year.
