Over €23.4 million for National Roads and Greenways in Cavan and Monaghan has been announced. An allocation of €16,782,833 has been approved for Cavan while €6,649,029 has been allocated for Monaghan, bringing the total for the two counties to €23,431,862. The funding was announced today as part of a total of over €500 million allocated to National Roads and Greenways nationwide. The allocations will be made to local authorities across the country through Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII). The funding will see the delivery of a range of vital infrastructure projects across the two counties. Over €16.7 million is to be invested in projects in Cavan, with a further €6.64 million being spent on projects in Monaghan.
Among the projects being funded in Cavan include; N55 Corduff to South of Killydoon: €9,050,000, N54 Butlers Bridge to Border Phase 2 Pavement Scheme €2,750,000, N3 Cavan Crystal Hotel-Kilmore Roundabout Safety Scheme: €400,000, N3 Virginia-Maghera Safety Scheme: €400,000 and N55 Ballinagh Relief Road: €100,000. Among the projects being funded in Monaghan include; N54 Clones East Pavement Scheme: €,1000,000, N2 Moy to Mullabryan Pavement: €1,200,000, N54 Tullybryan (Minor Works Project): €200,000, Ballynacarry New Bridge: €100,000 and Ulster Canal Greenway: €570,000.
