Over 680 domestic violence incidents have been reported to local Gardaí so far this year.
The reports include a mixture of barring, safety or protection order breaches, domestic disputes and any incident type where the motive is domestic violence.
The Cavan Monaghan Garda Division has the highest local level at 681 incidents recorded in 9 months.
That means that on average, almost three domestic abuse incidents are reported to Gardaí in Cavan and Monaghan every day.
Nationally an average of one domestic abuse incident has been reported to
the Gardaí every 15 minutes this year.
The force had dealt with 24,686 cases by September 9th - with 36 per cent in the Dublin region.
Just over 2,000 were reported in Cork, with Louth, Galway and Kildare the next highest.
