6,000 customers remain without power this evening across Cavan and Monaghan following widespread and extensive damage as a result of Storm Éowyn.
This figure is down from a peak of approx 55,000 customers at the height of the power outages on Friday. Latest figures from ESB Networks show that a week on from the severe weather event around 70,000 homes, farms and businesses remain without power - down from a peak of 768,000.
It's understood that around 1.5% of landline users are still without service and 5.65% of mobile users are experiencing some level of disruption.
Speaking on the Wider View earlier today, ESB, Networks Senior Manager Barry Comiskey said that more crews were coming to the region tomorrow from Austria to assist with their efforts. Mr Comiskey says the important public safety message remains, stay safe, stay clear of any fallen lines and report any damage to 1800 372 999.
