Over 5000 people visited Monaghan Branch Library during its first week in Monaghan Peace Campus.
Monaghan Branch Library opened its doors to the public once again last Monday, the 13th of May at its new home in Monaghan Peace Campus.
The library had been closed for 7 weeks to allow for the relocation from its old home on the North Road to the state of the art facility known as the 'Peace Campus'.
Whilst it was expected that readers would flock to the new location to explore the premises and exchange their books, the number of visitors who did arrive averaged out at 1,035 per day. When Staff closed the doors on Friday evening the final total for the week was 5,175.
This is a significant increase on the average daily total of approx. 350 per day in the North Road premises. The number of visitors is expected to grow as opening hours are extended this week to include late evening until 8pm on Monday & Wednesdays. You are being reminded that all you need is ID and proof of address to sign up to become a member at the state of the art library.
