The first six months of 2024 have seen over 500 homes sold on the market in the Northern Sound region. New figures from the CSO have revealed the number of homes, the types of buyer and the average cost of homes bought and sold locally. The data shows 557 properties were sold in Cavan and Monaghan between January and June of this year.
Of these sales, 132 homes were purchased by a first time buyer or buyers in the region. Cavan saw the most transactions in the 6 months to June, with 344 homes bought. Of these, 86 were purchased by first time buyers. Monaghan had 213 homes sold in six months,46 of those to new buyers. Overall, the number of transaction has decreased on the same time last year, where 571 properties were sold in the region in the first 6 months.
