Over 400 tyres have been dumped in north Monaghan forestry.
It comes exactly one week from over 20 sheep and lamb carcasses were discovered nearby on Sliabh Beagh.
It's estimated that between 400 and 600 tyres, from car sized to tractor specific, have been dumped at Drumfurrer, north of Carrickroe.
They were discovered on Tuesday afternoon on privately owned forestry close to St Patrick's Well and Chair.
Monaghan County Council's Environmental Section is liasing with the landowner to investigate the source and manage the removal of the tyres.
It's estimated that it could take over €2,000 to remove and dispose of the tyres.
Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact Monaghan Environmental Services.
This dumping was discovered one week to the day that more than 20 sheep and lamb carcasses were found near Poll an Aifrinn.
Monaghan County Council spent over €1,500 clearing that site over the weekend.
