Over 400 births have been registered across the Northern Sound region so far this year.
The data was revealed in a recent CSO report.
The CSO provided a break-down of births recorded across counties Cavan and Monaghan for Quarter 1 of 2024.
A total of 221 babies were born in Cavan so far this year.
This is followed by Monaghan, where 197 births were recorded by the CSO.
In total, 418 births were registered across the region, out of which 212 were male and 216 were female.
The figure comes at an increase of 1.2%, when compared to the same time last year.
Nationally, 13,482 babies were born so far this year.
