There has been over 150 enquiries in relation to the Croi Conaithe scheme in County Monaghan so far.
The government grant scheme allows people to access up to 50,000 euros to refurbish vacant buildings across the country.
As of last week 4 people have been approved for the government funding at a cost 160,000 euros across Monaghan.
A total of 154 potential applicants enquired with the local council about the funding initiative.
One other application is pending while seven more have been requested to give council officials more information on their application.
One of the main requirements are that the property in question has been unoccupied for a minimum of two years and the property must be lived in my the applicant.
