The councillor announced the decision ahead of his official elimination during the sixth count of the Monaghan LEA.

Independent councillor Paudge Connolly has conceded his chances of being re-elected on to Monaghan County Council.

The councillor announced the decision ahead of his official elimination during the sixth count of the Monaghan LEA.

The Independent politician served as a TD for the Cavan-Monaghan constituency from 2002 to 2007. Since then, he has been actively involved in the locality.
