5.2 million euro is being allocated to a network of organisations that support victims of crime.
65 groups will benefit from the allocation at local, regional and national level.
They include Offaly Domestic violence support, Longford Women's Link and Women's Aid in Dublin.
While potential sites were hoped to be identified for a domestic violence refuge in Cavan/Monaghan before the end of 2022, no funding has been specifically allocated to the Cavan or Monaghan area.
However, local victims can avail of funding which has been allocated to organisations on a nationwide level such as Women's Aid, Ruhama, and One in Four.
Justice Minster Simon Harris says the organisations that benefited, all met a strict criteria.
The allocations range from €3,000 to €740,000, and they cover:
- National and larger organisations such as Women’s Aid, Ruhama, and One in Four;
- Local organisations working with victims such as Domestic Violence Support, Women’s Refugeand Rape Crisis outlets;
- General victims support organisations including Victim Support at Court; and
- Specialist organisations including Migrant Rights Centre and Dignity 4 Patients.
