Oram in Co Monaghan has won big at this year’s Pride of Place Awards.
The small village close to the border won in the 0-300 population category coming out the top winner in the country with Inistioge, in Co. Kilkenny, Milford in Co. Cork, and Williamstown in Co. Galway taking the runner up spots.

In a post online by Monaghan County Council they said Oram’s story is a shining example of what a close-knit, passionate community can achieve when people come together with a shared purpose.
Every project, from the Big Tom Weekend festival, to the memorial garden and the walking track—reflects the hard work, pride, and unity of Oram’s residents.
The MC for the event was Monaghan’s own Brendan McArdle and the gala event seen hundreds of Commuinty groups and associations come together to celebrate their achievements to date.
