Minister for Higher Education Simon Harris says he hopes to expand on educational opportunities for people living in Cavan and Monaghan in the future. According to Minister Harris, "excellent provisions" are already in place across the Northern Sound Region with plans to expand on what is already available. Minister Harris complimented the Cavan Institute for what it brings to further education following its recent expansion.
Speaking to Northern Sound, plans for the future include offering students who start a programme in either Cavan or Monaghan the opportunity of concluding it in a Technological University. He added that it's important to create "more pathways" for people by offering high quality education which will also attract people to the local area.
