Maire Clear who is one of the five leaders of the popular television show Operation Transformation visited Monaghan over the weekend. Maire was born in Rockcorry and went to school in the county before moving to Cashel in Tipperary with her mom.
She was delighted to get back to Monaghan over the bank holiday weekend to meet friends and family. Rockcorry GAA organised an walking event that saw over 150 people from the area coming out to show their support.
Marie says the TV show has 'changed her life' and she had an "amazing time" in Monaghan. "I had an amazing few days in Monaghan; we had a walk there which was well organised by Rockcorry GAA.
"About 150 people turned up; I knew a lot of the faces and got to catch up with people which was really lovely. Myself and my family were also put up in Catriona's in Cootehill for a meal - she put on the Stephano's Creamy Pasta. It was great to go out to cafe and eat something that was on the plan," she added.
