An extension to the opening hours of Monaghan's Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) will be in place by the end of this month.
That's according to the most recent update by the Department of Health.
Last year, opening hours of the unit were extended from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday following calls of concern from local people and public representatives.

Despite this, the Department of Health has confirmed that opening times will be extended on a weekend basis also, with times yet to be revealed.
Speaking on the matter, Senator Robbie Gallagher said this was "great news" for the region.
He also encouraged locals to use the facility as often as possible:
