The Minor Injuries Unit at Monaghan Hospital will reopen on December the 28th with business as usual.
Opening hours were extended at the facility in early November and services, which include treatment for broken bones, strains and scalds are available from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday.
Medical Card holders and those with GP referral letters can access services for free, for everyone else though, a €75 fee applies.
Senator Robbie Gallagher says the service is there for the people of Cavan and Monaghan.
He added that the HSE is planning to open the Unit seven days per week during 2023 and the process will begin in the New Year.
