Aontú is hosting an online public meeting this evening to discuss its Bill seeking the undergrounding of the North South Interconnector.
Aontú's leader, Peadar Tóibín, says "the clock is ticking down on this issue and we need to bury these cables once and for all".
The Bill calls on the government to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the full cost of over-grounding the cables.
Peadar Tóibín says this will involve an "analysis of the cost in terms of damage to house prices, property prices and damage to local business, enterprise and Agri-businesses".
Local councillor, Sarah O'Reilly, will be take part in the meeting and the Aontú leader says he's "shocked" that so few local TDs have signed the Bill:
The meeting is taking place at 7.30pm and those interested in attending should email [email protected].
