Monaghan County Council, Monaghan Local Sports Partnership and Swim Ireland have announced the arrival of a Pop-Up Pool in Carrickmacross Town.

The Carrickmacross Pop-up pool will become active next week.
Monaghan County Council, Monaghan Local Sports Partnership and Swim Ireland have announced the arrival of a Pop-Up Pool in Carrickmacross Town.
Located just 400m off the Oriel Road in Carrickmacross, adjacent to the Carrick Aces Athletic Club (Eircode - A81 DX50), the facility will be operational from the 16th of September 2024 through to Spring 2025.

Local Councillor, Colm Carthy believes now is the right time to show that Carrickmacross needs a permanent swimming pool. He says learning to swim is a vital skill in life and it's his hope that this pop-up pool will open that skill set to many.
Swim Ireland are working closely with Monaghan Local Sports Partnership on delivering a number of community-based pool programmes.
The programmes are aimed at everyone from children, teens, older adults, and people with disabilities.
Cllr Colm Carthy worked directly with the executive to bring it to fruition and he says its great news for South Monaghan.
