A motorcyclist in his 40s has lost his life in a crash in County Monaghan.
No other vehicle was involved in the collision near Castleblayney.
The motorcyclist was travelling on the N2 near Tullyvin at around 5.10 yesterday evening when his motorbike hit the Drumcrew roundabout.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and his body has been taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda where a post-mortem will be carried out.
Garda Forensic Collision Investigators have examined the scene.
Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses to come forward.
Any road users travelling on the N2 near Castleblayney between 4.45pm and 5.30pm yesterday and who may have camera footage is asked to contact Castleblaney Garda Station.
