The Food Safety Authority of Ireland have issued a closure order on a pizza takeaway in Oldcastle after inspectors found evidence of people living and sleeping in the kitchen. The closure order was one of 10 enforcement orders served on food businesses in November.
When inspectors visited the Pizza Max takeaway located on Cavan Street in Oldcastle, they found evidence people were living and sleeping in the food preparation area, where there were mattresses, bedding and clothing. There was no evidence the business operator was trained in food safety, had registered the establishment as a food business or that there were adequate food safety procedures in place. The closure order was lifted on December 2nd.
