The official opening of the new group home in Carrickmacross will take place this morning.
Drummond Lodge Group Home was due to be officially opened on the 28th of March, but was postponed when Minister of State for Disability Anne Rabbitte contracted covid-19.
The facility for people with physical and sensory disabilities got the green light for construction in 2006 and was finished in 2017.
However, a number of issues in relation to funding meant the HSE were unable to run the facility.
Despite the postponement of the official opening, local councillor Colm Carthy said he received assurance from the HSE that this didn't delay the process of people moving in.
The group home, which can accomodate five people, will be officially opened by Minister Rabbitte this morning at 10.30 am.
