The official launch of a brand new public space in Monaghan is happening this Friday.
The Church Square Performance Space in Monaghan Town will be officially launched on Friday at 3pm. Representatives from Fáílte Ireland and the County Council will be present with a number of events planned to mark the launch. Tourism Officer with Monaghan County Council, Dympna Condra hopes the space will continue to be well used by the public in Monaghan.
"It's absolutely a public space. It's like a focal point and a hub. It's very heartening to see how well its being used at the moment. There's always people sitting in the space and catching up. There've also been a number of events like the Street Food Festival and most recently the Harvest Time Blues Festival when they set up the 'Juke Joint' in that space. It was wonderful to see".
