A local councillor has described the purchase of the Nuremore Hotel as the "best news" Carrickmacross and the North East region has received in the last number of years.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the landmark hotel and golf resort was officially sold to the McGettigan group.
Fianna Fail's PJ O'Hanlon described the Nuremore Hotel as "vital" for the local economy.
The landmark hotel and golf resort is set to undergo a significant refurbishment, with plans to create over 100 new jobs, revitalize the surrounding area, and establish Nuremore as a premier destination for both local visitors and international tourists.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr O'Hanlon went on to wish the Mettigan Group all the best and thanked them for coming in and investing in Carrickmacross.
