Northern Sound has just received confirmation that the Nuremore Hotel in Carrickmacross has been sold. The landmark property, which, was on the market for a guide price of €6m has been sold to the McGettigan group.
The Nuremore Hotel, on the old Ardee Roiad just outside Carrickmacross, ceased trading in 2023. It was established and developed by Julie Gilhooly and her family. When she retired from the business in 2020, the hotel was sold to The Kylin Prime Group as a going concern.
The hotel, which that has 70-bedrooms and is located on a 160-acre of parkland, will now be now returned to its former glory. Local Councillor Peter Conlon says the confirmation of the sale is not just good news for Monaghan but for the North East:
