Over 800 people in Cavan and Monaghan have returned to work this week.
New figures from the Department of Social Protection show that 842 individuals across the Northern Sound region closed their pandemic unemployment payments in the last 7 days.
Nationally almost 30,000 people finished with the support this week, with just under 163,400 people still in receipt of the support around the country.
Just under 7,000 people returned to work in the Accommodation and Food Service as indoor dining resumed last week.
457 closed their PUP claims in Monaghan this week, with 385 in Cavan.
There are now 2,020 people left on the support in Monaghan and 2,111 in Cavan.
The numbers of people on the Pandemic Unemployment Payment is now at its lowest since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic.
