The number of people receiving Pandemic Unemployment Payments in Cavan and Monaghan has fallen by almost 2,000 since last week.
Figures released by the Department of Social Protection show 9,400 people are receiving the payments in the two counties.
These figures show 1,900 fewer people were receiving the PUP payments locally this week, when compared with last week.
4,900 of those are in Cavan, with 4,500 in Monaghan.
Those figures are down by 8,500 when compared with the peak on May 5th, when 17,900 people were receiving the payments in the Northern Sound region.
Nationally 345,600 people are still receiving the payments.
