A series of vigils will take place across the country this evening - following this week’s murders in Sligo of Roscommon native Aidan Moffit and 58 year old sligo man Michael Snee.
They were killed in seperate incidents in the town on Sunday and Tuesday this week
22-year-old Yousef Palani appeared in Sligo District Court yesterday evening charged with their murders and the serious assault of a third man in Sligo last Saturday
Vigils, organised by the LGBTQ community, are being held in Dublin, Sligo, Cork. Galway, Belfast and many other towns across the country.
Locally vigils are set to take place at 6pm at the Lacey Gallery in Carrickmacross; The Market Square in Cavan Town; The Market Square in Longford Town; and at Mullingar City Park.
And on Easter Monday there is a planned vigil for both men at the City Clock in Carrick-on-Shannon.
