A number of road closures will take place in Monaghan Town this evening to facilitate a commemoration event that is taking place to mark the 5oth anniversary of the Dublin and Monaghan Bombings.
At 6.45pm this evening, President Michael D Higgins as well as Minister Heather Humphreys will attend a wreath-laying ceremony at the memorial to the victims, Church Square in Monaghan Town. Please note road closures in place from 5pm in The Diamond and Church Square.
Parking will be available in the areas shown on the map for people wanting to attend this event. Please note the event starts sharply at 6.45pm. Please allow adequate travel time to be there early.
Note there will be restricted access to the Upper Courthouse Carpark on Friday to facilitate this event and the exit and entrance to this carpark from Church Square will be closed.
