The type of farming practiced in Cavan and Monaghan plays a part in the high number of incident on farms in the two counties.
The Health and Safety Authority carried out a review into workplace deaths between 2011 and 2020, with the border region having the second highest rate.
The Farm Safety Action Plan was launched today by the Farm Safety Partnership Advisory Committee, which advises the HSA.
It's identified five key areas that need attention, including behaviour, education and training, livestock handing and the use of tractors and other high-risk machinery.
